Greens Road: From Aldine Westfield Rd. to JFK Blvd., Houston, Texas
Client:Reconstruction of 1.6 miles of Greens Road from 2-lane asphalt open ditch roadway to 4-lane divided concrete curb and gutter roadway. IDCUS performed Construction Management & Inspection services for this City of Houston LGPP project on the south side of George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Because the project was federally funded, IDCUS scope included securing reimbursement of Federal funds for the City as construction progressed. This required coordination with TxDOT/FHWA and assurance by IDCUS that all Federal requirements were followed to avoid jeopardizing Federal funding.
Construction included replacement of existing 18 In. waterline with a new steel 24 in. waterline, adjustment of all services to existing businesses along project, new storm water detention basin with outfall into Harris County Flood Control District ditch; reconstructed and widened bridge over Hood’s Bayou; new storm sewer system; and Landscaping. IDCUS worked with the Utility Coordinator and utility companies to identify, locate and adjust several unknown utility conflicts not shown on the plans.
